Build it Yourself: Cheap Hands that Grasp Robustly

TU Berlin has built a soft robotic hand that is low-cost and can with relatively effortlessly.  They are also giving away ten kits, each consisting of three fingers that you can build your own hand from. You can find more information about how to get the kit, a video of their hand in action, and a step-by-step tutorial of how to build a hand here. And you can get some free fingers here.
