The plenary presentations on the first day will consist of several presentations of the state of the art (about 25 minutes), followed by a discussion of aspects specific to systems integration (about 20 minutes). In the second part of the presentation, the connections, interactions, and requirements with respect to other components (embodiment; grasping and manipulation; perception; control and representation; teaching and learning) should be assessed. During the second part of the presentation, members from other break-out groups will also have the opportunity to comment and ask specific questions about dependencies between components. These interactions will provide important parameters for the work of the respective break-out groups in later sessions.
During the break-out sessions, particular emphasis will be on systems integration, i.e., the break-out groups will consider the state of the art in their fields in the context of integrative systems for autonomous mobile manipulation. This context will have been discussed as part of the plenary presentations. To facilitate the consideration of integrative aspects, the program interleaves break-out sessions and plenary sessions. In the beginning of the plenary sessions, each break-out groups will briefly present their findings, followed by a discussion of the findings and recommendations in the context of system integration.
The schedule is tentative and will be changed in accordance to the
evolution of the workshop.
